Goals for 2014

goals

Happy New Years Eve! I hope you all are having a wonderful holiday and keeping warm.

This is the very last list, LIST 52 OF 2013. #52Lists 52lists2013

I hope you had as much fun following along with all of these lists as I had creating them. It was intended to be a list a week, every week for the year, but I got started late in August (super late to the party, I know!) But, I'm so happy that I pushed through them and was able to post all 52 lists before the year was up. Some of the lists were tough for me and I set them aside until I could get a little mojo on the subject. Some were easy and I was able to turn out several in a week's time. But, truly the best parts of this journey were sharing a little bit of myself and completing the project.

Goals for 2014

  1. Exercise more often than not

  2. Learn yoga

  3. Eat more healthy foods - I need to stop eating like the teenagers I feed

  4. Grow my business

  5. I'm potentially going to experience the infamous empty nest syndrome mid 2014 and need to figure out how I will handle this gracefully

  6. Make new friends - get more involved

  7. Cook more at home

  8. Try acupuncture for pain relief and better health

  9. Save money

  10. Keep reading - according to my Amazon Kindle I have been reading/purchasing/downloading around 100 books a year for the past 5 years... this from the girl who HATED to read in school.

Things that I have lost

lost

I lose things all of the time... little things like my keys, the thought that brought me into a room, paperwork, etc. But they all reappear after some searching & thinking.

This list is hard for me because I don't feel as if I've really lost something. When you go back over your life, you lose your innocence, your virginity, you gain your freedom when you leave home but then lose it all over again when you marry and have a family, you lose jobs, there are lots of things that you lose... but with each loss there are also gains, so is it still a loss?

When I think of the big things you lose, like people - losing a friendship or experiencing a death, yes that's loss, big-time loss, but it's also life. We experience, adapt, move forward and continue on without them. Or, maybe we take a piece of them and tuck them away in our hearts for private moments when we need them most.

I know this one turned out not being of list of the things that I have lost, but I couldn't turn it in to one. Maybe I'm a sore loser that way.

"Out of all the things I have lost, I miss my mind the most."

Things I would like to make

I like making things. Heck, I make stuff for a living!

But, I'm kind of fickle about what I like to make and how often I make it. Like, I enjoy crocheting a scarf, but afterwards I won't pick up a crochet hook for months. Same with making jewelry or sewing... I don't have it in me to mass produce, I get bored or distracted and move on to the next project. I have a whole Pinterest board dedicated to craft night ideas and one for the stuff I want to make... here are some of the pins:
